Bentley Mulsanne
Bentley cars are among the most expensive luxury items to-date. Bentley has established a name that became known worldwide, and it is purely loved by some of the most influential personas in the planet. What’s even more stunning is the set of vintage models built decades ago, and they are definitely ground-breaking. Among these great classics is the Mulsanne.
Though copied models like the Continental T and Azure lasted into the 2000s, the Bentley Mulsanne is a performance luxury car manufactured by Bentley Motors Limited from 1980 through 1992. The name is obtained from Bentley’s legendary history, which included five significant victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans — the ‘Mulsanne Straight’ being the stretch of the Le Mans racecourse where cars reach their maximum speeds. The new Bentley guaranteed to characterize the heart and soul of Bentley motoring by providing abundant performance alongside a complete ease.
The Mulsanne contributed to the traditional 6.75 L (6750 cc/411 in³) Rolls-Royce V8 with aluminum alloy cylinder heads. Two SU carburetors were changed by Bosch fuel injection with innovative components on all models from 1986. All Mulsannes made use of a 3-speed automatic transmission.
The first Mulsanne Turbo was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1982 and produced through 1985. There was a fifty percent increase in power. Thanks to the Garrett AirResearch turbocharger, it perfectly matched the Mulsanne with outstanding results. There was the typical highly refined walnut veneered fascia, blemish-free leather and carpets and headlining of pure wool for the interior. 498 short wheel-base and 18 long wheelbase Mulsanne Turbos were produced.
