Vintage Train Cars visit Bay City in August

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 8:10 am

My blog is all about history cars and if you are interested on seeing this history cars, well, be prepared next month when these vintage train cars visit Bay City straight right to the West Branch this coming August. If you miss these vehicles so much, now is the right time to grab this rare opportunity to see these vintage cars lining up on Bay City. All these cars wear everything from Victorian art to vintage trains as well as classic cars’ designs. Thanks mlive.com for this news.

The display will start at 8 a.m. on Defoe Park. All the cars from 1950s-era will be displaying their bodies on the said venue. The people who are looking for a first class service will be seated on the private luxury cars on the grand Algonquin Park particularly ‘’vista dome” and ‘’mural lounge'’.

The president of Luxury Rail Car Sales Bill Harman said, ‘’The vista dome is the most important thing about this car. You actually go upstairs to the dome area and you can see 360 degrees.'’

The Canadian train will also be a part of the event. This train is one of the 18 cars for the Provincial Parks shared by the Algonquin Park. The trains from Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal will be taking tourists to the country side and to the city places as if it were still the late 1950’s and 1960’s. But it was mothballed in 1990. However, with the great interest of Harman and a group of investors towards it, they purchased the said vehicle and restored it on their Saginaw roundhouse. The partnership between Harman and the investors hope that this can be the ‘’first-class traveling resort'’. The investors also shared their investments on the 85-foot-long vehicle as well as spending it on all the fees.

They are going to more places like Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C., or in New Orleans for the Mardi Gras as well as the Rose Bowl in California. The trip will include a night’s stay at a private bedroom with all the necessary service for their personal needs like bath and food.

Harman added, ‘’The idea behind it is a high-end luxury travel experience that’s affordable for a typical person who would like to take a vacation. Of course, you could buy your own vintage train car, if you are able to spend $2 or $3 million.'’

The budget per person will be $4,000 each. So if you are into history cars, this is the best chance to get hold of it once again.

Happy 90th Birthday BMW!

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 4:41 am

BMW is so proud to celebrate its 90th year of wearing the name. July 21, 2007, the same date when the latest Harry Potter book was released is also the very same date when the Bavarian wheel maker is celebrating the 90 glorious years in the service of the auto industry. The German carmaker had been wearing the BMW brand tag from 1917 right up until this very day.

The BMW name was applied to every vehicle that the German auto maker had made. The short name BMW sounds like a sedan car to almost everybody but they are also reputable makers of quality small engine parts. And this also does not include the excellent brake calipers that they have made through the years.

Looking back, Karl Rapp was making V12 engines exclusively for Austro-Daimler. But he was joined by Max Friz, Cornelius Jagdmann and Camillo Castiglioni and then the Bayerische Motoren Werke was established.

We wish you a happy, happy birthday BMW. May you continue creating quality cars for us. And we hope to see you grow more and so you also discover more technologies that can enhance not just the quality of your cars but its performance as well.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Is A Star

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 3:41 am

There’s one classic car that has been my fascination lately - it’s the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro! From the day it was first introduced in 1967 as new model year on a brand new rear-wheel drive using a GM F-body platform, the Camaro was absolutely a hit during that era. At the start, the Camaro was advertised on the top 40 radio stations of the day so as to promote this vehicle to the young adult market.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro with its share of perfect Chevy body parts was available as a 2-door, 2+2 seating, coupe or convertible with a choice of inline-6 and V8 power plants. The first-generation Camaro would last until the 1969 model year and would finally inspire the design of the new retro fifth-generation Camaro.

During the first week of July, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro has once again resurfaced… in the spotlight! What I meant about this is that the Camaro starred in a movie entitled The Transformers movie! I guess everybody have seen this awesome flick during the opening week! Yeah, I am one of the million fans who watched the Transformers on its premiere night! This movie is absolutely a blockbuster hit! And maybe is the movie of the year!

Anyway, going back to the Camaro, this car played a remarkable role in the movie as Bumblebee - the friendliest and one of the greatest soldiers of the Autobots. Actually, he was one of the key characters who brought color to the story.

Some scenes on the movie proved that the 1969 Camaro still got the power and the right stuff in it! After a hot pursuit and a clash with one of the Decepticons named Barricade (a modified Saleen Ford Mustang Police Car), the Camaro is invincible! Impressive indeed! But later on, he emerged as the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro concept car after he was called as a “piece of crap” by Sam’s girlfriend!

The M-Class is on the its first decade this year, and so their mother car maker Mercedes-Benz give it a celebration. The new M-Class models will be reproduced as a gift by MB. The new M-Class will have its "Edition 10" model a sport utility vehicle that will be reproduced into 850,000 units.

The new models will be handling these car parts:
  •  20-inch wheels

And the good news is that the new car model will be revealing itself in showrooms this coming autumn. A sporty new look was given to the new car, as well as more sporty car parts like sports instruments, two-tone all-leather appointments, stainless steel sports pedals and many more.

I found this list of new car parts installed on the new M-Class "Edition10" on the autoblog.com. Guys, take a look at the new auto parts installed as well as the new models under the “Edition 10”.

Five "Edition 10"models (market availability varies):

Ford’s Model T

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 5:36 am

The world’s most influential car of the 20th century.

Aside from being the first Ford car to rule on China in 1913, this was the very first automobile ever produced by Henry Ford in the year 1908 to 1927. The car was named Tin Lizzie and the Flivver before it became the Model T. Of course, because the car industry before was not that highly-equipped, the Ford model did not wear the Ford catalytic converter yet. It was also the first affordable vehicle made by Ford and it is the car, they say, that put the US on wheels.

This was also the first car that uses the first Ford innovations aside from the hand crafts that was also included on the car’s design. It is the first car ever made by Ford that went into production. This was also the time where Ford decided to employ workers for the production of the said vehicle. The first ever model T was made in September 27, 1908 in their production plant in Detroit, Michigan.

It was also designed by the famous Childe Harold Wills with the aid of the two Hungarian immigrants identified as Eugene Farkas as well as Joseph A. Galamb. Other members of the team like Harry Love, Peter E. Martin, Gus Degner and C. J. Smith all collaborated in making the Model T. It started in 1908 but it was released and become famous from 1909 till 1927.

Henry have produced so many cars even before he started the production of the Model T. But some are only prototypes. Henry released the Model A and produced only a limited 19 cars of the model including the prototypes. Before they released the Model T, the upgraded version of Model N which is the Model S was the first one to be released. It was one among the most successful launches ever made by the company during those times. The American company later released the Model A instead of the Model U. The car company started with the letter A because, according to Henry Ford, it signifies the departure of the old models. And soon after the Model T vanished in 1927, the Chrysler Corporation released the Plymouth car in 1928. It was named the model U.

99 Year Old Car

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 12:41 am

Not getting any younger but still has guts!

My grandpa is already 90 years old but, take note, he can still manage to clean up my car and he even replaced the Mercedes Benz fender and the Mercedes Benz fog light lens for me.

But oh don’t be mistaken - our family’s car is not as old as my grandpa, but this car I saw on the net is a bit older than him. Yeah you read it right. An Iowa man has an antique automobile but this unit is still running in the streets of Merill at the age of 99 years.

With a small amount of cranks, the engine starts up with less effort - no sweat baby! It is owned by John Mertes and his son Ken. And what a surprise! John is 90 years (just like grandpa) and he said that the car has got only some… years on him, not that bad!

According to him, it was fabricated by the year 1908 by Sears Roebuck and Company. It cost him for about 525 dollars. So this calls for a celebration - yup, you got the right math. By next year, it is time for its centennial anniversary. But I’m just curious - if there is going to be a celebration, what type of cars (and car owners) would be invited? Would they be going to invite antiques, vintage, collectibles, limited edition, or sports cars? If that would be the case, then I can’t come for my car will be out of place!

Anyway, back to the 99 year old car. In 1916, John was born and his father gave him the auto when he was a 16 year old boy. They have this car driven to a bunch of displays over the years. And how did they maintain it? The answer: tender loving care so much so that it can still run for about 15 miles per hour.

Actually they made few repairs to this wooden wheeled wonder, including the new sleeves on the motor and new tires but the rest including the steering bar, headlights, and carriage seat are still original parts. As a tradition, John wants to pass the vehicle on to his son Ken.
